Behind the Scenes

How Midnight Was Born

1989

Bryan Erdy drew the original drawing of what would become "Midnight" in 1989. It sat in storage for over thirty years before he rediscovered it and shared it on social media — where it became his most viewed and most commented-on drawing he had ever shared.

If you tell me you love my artwork and that I should do a children's book… I'm going to do it.

More than a few people suggested Bryan should do more with the character — and he listened.

Two Years in the Making

Bryan spent two years creating what would become "Midnight" — pouring decades of storytelling experience and a lifelong love of imagination into every page.

Midnight was published in May 2025 and has enjoyed strong sales and glowing reviews. ✨
